Life in the desert...

This afternoon, I got in my car. The car temperature gauge read 120 DEGREES.

Tonight, at 9:30 PM, it was 108 DEGREES!

Still not believing it, I checked the weather online... (they only registered 102 @ 9:30) And I saw this:

Excessive Heat Warning for Greater Phoenix Area, AZ
until 8 pm MST, Tue., Jul. 14, 2009

Now remind me... Just WHY do I live in this place???

Oh yeah -- family. That's right. We kinda like them. Boy, they must be a heckuva crew to keep me here with all the blazing rays and scorpions!!!

yikes..those temps scare me! So do you all just hang around inside when it gets that hot?

We have been having unseasonably cool weather...kind of a bummer seeing that our "summer" is very short. But still getting in some swimming etc

Sorry :( That is why we always had a self starter on our car. Didn't want to use the Arizona branding iron on my kids!

Uh, I don't know what to say. Would you give it up for two feet of snow and a temp of -6 in February?

Hot tamales is all I can say. Those hot days and nights when you just sweat are so horrible. Be safe and drink up!

You are so brave to live in that temp! Sandy has not yet reached 100 degrees and I'm praying it's not anytime soon! 98 degrees baked us last week!!

Heat like that would just make me cranky all of the time. I'm glad you are surviving!

It might not be that hot here in Tennessee where I'm at, but it sure did feel like it inside my car....w/out A/C! On my way to the garage, I realized that the passenger's side front power window is going out! The driver's side went out about 2 yrs ago. The damage...about $500. Ugh. That's probably more than the car is worth, lol It's a '95 Lincoln Town Car with over 180,000 miles.

we have been very blessed lately b/c our AC in the van is broken but it's been very nice. I'd die if it was 108!~

We don't have a 108 heat, thank heavens or we would be introuble since we all we have are fans and a swamp cooler. I spend a great deal of my afternoons melting or trying to find places to go where there is cool air.
