Right or Wrong?
Alright, I know I post a lot of these... but this one is really difficult. Hubby pointed this out to me. Its a tough one. Tell me what you think.
A mentally disabled teenager gets 100 years in prison for fondling a child. Read the story here.
Wow! Okay that just makes me mad. First off he is never going to survive in a regular prison. Secondly there are people that do A LOT worse than fondling (yes that is really bad I know) that get a lot shorter sentences! Maybe there is more of the story that we don't know. But from what we read that sentence is WAY too long.
I hate the injustices of this life and find comfort that our Heavenly Father will compensate and love us according to each one of us. But come on.. mentally disable? Aren't those the precious of our Heavenly Father? One day those wrongs will be righted but in the mean time, it's hard to live through the trials...
he should have gotten help - not been sent to prison. And yes, there is probably more to the story.
What would Christ do? How would he judge this? Maybe in this case he could have been given the choice of being monitored, rather then imprisoned, or other people could be notified of his "tendency" and be left in charge of protecting their own kids..... very interesting question.

This hits a little too close to home for me. And I feel like there must be more to the story. All in all, it's a terrible situation.
